It was first held in 1810 to celebrate the marriage of Crown Prince Ludwig and Princess Therese of Saxony-Hildburghausen. Today it’s a massive two-week event filled with beer tents, carnival rides and German delicacies like bratwurst and pretzels. Visitors come from all over the world to take part in this celebration that draws around 6 million people each year!

The Rio Carnival – Brazil
The Rio Carnival is one of Brazil’s biggest festivals that takes place every year before Lent begins. It’s an extravagant display of music, dancing, costumes and parades that draw millions of visitors each year. This festival is considered one of the most famous carnivals globally due to its vibrant energy and spectacular performances by samba schools across Rio de Janeiro.  Harbin Ice & Snow Festival – China
This winter festival takes place annually from January through February in Harbin City located in Heilongjiang province of northeastern China. This amazing event features huge sculptures made from ice blocks taken from Songhua River as well as snow sculptures built by international competitors from all around the world! From snow slides to ice lantern mazes there are plenty of fun activities for everyone at this winter wonderland worth checking out.

Holi Festival - India
marks the arrival of spring season every year during late March or early April depending on Hindu calendar dates. During this incredible event people throw colored powder or water balloons at each other while celebrating love and unity among all religions!
